Art Loops: Downtown Themes

WATER

Water is a valued resource in Utah and has played an especially important role in the founding of Springville. This themed section of the Art Loops, which connects Civic Center Park to the Riverwalk and Hobble Creek, illustrates the significance of water to our local landscape and town history. From enduring pieces such as Cyrus E. Dallin’s Victory Fountain to the City’s newest hydrophobic murals, artworks along this route reference water in their inspiration, subject matter or medium.

Youth Art Walk

The Youth Art Walk is geared toward our youngest community members with fun and colorful art installations. Artwork is designed for play and engagement, established in collaboration with local youth and emerging artists. Located one block east of the Literary Art Walk, this pathway intentionally follows student walking routes and includes tactical interventions to increase pedestrian safety.

Downtown

Downtown Springville is a walkable, community-focused hub with architectural charm and vibrant Main Street. Public art in this area ranges from traditional bronze sculpture as part of the Statues to Live by program, to contemporary murals by prominent Utah artists. Rotating art activations and community-led projects exist alongside significant historic sites, demonstrating Springville’s enduring creative spirit.

Literary

The Literary Art Walk features ephemeral and permanent pieces inspired by the written word. Sidewalk poetry and murals reference classic literature or playful prose, while little libraries encourage lifelong learning and community engagement. Visually calming and contemplative, this section of the Art Loops invites viewers to slow down and wander with curiosity.

People gather outside on a bright, sunny day at a street fair or community event. There are tents, vendor booths, and a colorful food truck on the left side. Some people are walking, talking, and browsing the booths, while others are seated or working at tables.

Festival Street

Festival Street is an active section of the Art Loops where the visual and performing arts intersect with community life. Contemporary installations, public festivals, murals and street performers energize this pedestrian-friendly area, which encourages shared art experiences through creative gathering spaces. Vibrant color and interactive elements characterize Festival Street artwork, with themes that bolster our multicultural community.
